Manchester United to make third bid for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale despite injury woes

MANCHESTER UNITED will not be put off making a move for Gareth Bale by his injury record.

Bale is sidelined again at the moment and has actually missed 40 per cent of Real Madrid’s games through various injuries since joining them in September 2013.

That will not affect United’s thinking, however, if they get any indication from Madrid that Bale is ready to return to the Premier League.

United have long coveted Bale and even tried to hijack his £85.3 million move to the Bernabeu.

That failed and Bale has gone on to be a success in Spain winning three Champions Leagues.

But while he has loved his time in Spain he is not popular with the clubs fans.

Bale signed a new six-year contract last season taking him to 2022, so Real would at least demand their money back.

Also Spurs have first refusal on the player, as part of the initial transfer, if they can match any bid.

It is unlikely they would be able to match United in the spending stakes, however.

Mourinho has already spent £300million but missed out on the wide man he wanted this summer.
